Awards and grants

Travel Grants sponsored by the DGPF and EuPA
The support of young scientist is one of the major interests of the DGPF and EuPA. Therefore, several activities are planned for young scientist at Proteomic Forum 2019 in Potsdam. Besides the EuPA Young Investigator Prize (EuPA-YIP) and the Promotion Prize of the DGPF there will be an Educational Day allowing not only young scientist to learn more about Proteomics or to discuss practical questions about mass spectrometry etc. Additionally, the DGPF and the EuPA decided to give young scientist the chance to participate at the Proteomic Forum 2019 by each offering 10 travel grants (500 EUR) to young scientists.

To receive one of the travel grants, please adhere to the following guidelines. The application is only possible by January 6, 2019

Application details for the DGPF travel grant
• applicant must be 33 years or younger
• submit an abstract to Proteomic Forum 2019
• fill in the boxes within the online registration form

Application details for the EuPA travel grant

• fill in the boxes within the online registration form
• last achieved degree ≤ 7 years

EuPA Young Investigator Prize (PhD)
Young Investigator Awards (YIA) will be granted to young investigators who have started or obtained their PhD or MD degree not later than three years before the time of submission and are a member of a EuPA affiliated society and working in a European laboratory. Applicants must register for PROTEOMIC FORUM 2019, submit an abstract indicating that they wish to compete for the prize, no later than January 6, 2019 (see announcement).  

Please register online and provide your CV and two letters of support to eupa@conventus.de by January 6, 2019.
The prize will be awarded during the award ceremony on March 27, 2019 in Potsdam.


Promotion Prize of the DGPF

The German Society for Proteome Research will award a Promotion Prize of an amount of 2,500 € to an outstanding dissertation in the field of proteomics which was finished during the last 2 years in Germany (since January 1, 2017). Here, the originality as well as the duration of work and a conceivably high degree of independency will be the basis for awarding the Promotion Prize. The suggested candidate does not necessarily need to be a member of the DGPF. Proposals of candidates for the Promotion Prize have to be submitted by their supervisors with a short letter of nomination (one A4 page max.) until January 31, 2019 to eupa@conventus.de

The proposal must be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae of the candidate and the dissertation as a PDF document, including a copy of the dissertation certificate (including rating). 

The prize will be awarded during the award ceremony on March 27, 2019 in Potsdam.


Poster Prizes
All posters can compete for will be awarded at Proteomic Forum 2019. The evaluation will take place on site by an independent committee. Poster prize candidates will be informed about the status of their poster on site and are kindly asked to attend the award ceremony on Wednesday, March 27, 2019
